The organisation had already suspended its three food distribution sites in Gaza subsequent to the halt in hostilities between Palestinian factions and Israel came into force six weeks ago.

The organization attempted to avoid UN systems as the primary provider of relief to Palestinian residents.

UN and other aid agencies refused to co-operate with its approach, saying it was improper and dangerous.

Many residents were killed while trying to acquire nourishment amid turbulent circumstances near the organization's distribution points, mostly by Israeli fire, according to the UN.

Israel said its forces fired cautionary rounds.

Mission Completion

The foundation announced on the beginning of the week that it was concluding activities now because of the "successful completion of its humanitarian effort", with a total of three million packages containing the amounting to in excess of 187 million sustenance units distributed to Gazans.

The foundation's chief officer, the foundation leader, additionally stated the American-directed Civil-Military Coordination Center - which has been established to help implement US President Donald Trump's Gaza peace plan - would be "implementing and enlarging the approach the organization demonstrated".

"The organization's system, in which militant groups were prevented from misappropriating relief supplies, had major impact in convincing militant groups to participate and establishing a truce."

Feedback and Statements

Hamas - which denies stealing aid - welcomed the closure of the GHF, according to reports.

An official from stated the foundation should be made responsible for the damage it inflicted to Gazans.

"We call upon all global human rights groups to ensure that it does not escape accountability after causing the death and injury of many residents and obscuring the starvation policy practised by the Israeli authorities."

Foundation History

The foundation started work in Gaza on late May, a seven days following Israel had partially eased a complete restriction on humanitarian and trade shipments to Gaza that persisted for nearly three months and caused severe shortages of vital resources.

Subsequently, a food crisis was announced in Gaza City.

The foundation's nourishment distribution centers in the southern and middle regions of Gaza were operated by US private security contractors and positioned in Israeli military zones.

Relief Agency Issues

The UN and its partners claimed the approach violated the fundamental humanitarian principles of neutrality, impartiality and independence, and that guiding distressed residents into militarised zones was fundamentally dangerous.

International human rights monitoring body stated it documented the killing of at least 859 Palestinians attempting to obtain nourishment in the vicinity of GHF sites between 26 May and 31 July.

An additional 514 individuals were killed near the routes of UN and other aid convoys, it further stated.

The greater part of these people were fatally wounded by the Israeli forces, based on the agency's reports.

Divergent Narratives

Israeli defense forces said its soldiers had fired warning shots at individuals who came near them in a "intimidating" way.

The organization declared there were no firearm incidents at the distribution centers and accused the UN of using "false and misleading" figures from Gaza's Hamas-run health ministry.

Ongoing Situation

The GHF's future had been uncertain since Palestinian factions and Israeli authorities consented a truce agreement to execute the initial stage of the United States' reconciliation proposal.

The arrangement specified humanitarian assistance would take place "absent meddling from the both sides through the international bodies and their affiliates, and the humanitarian medical organization, in combination with other worldwide bodies not associated in any manner" with militant groups and the Israeli government.

UN spokesperson the international body's communicator stated recently that the organization's termination would have "zero effect" on its activities "since we never collaborated with them".

The official further mentioned that while more aid was getting into Gaza since the halt in hostilities began on October 10th, it was "insufficient to meet all the needs" of the over two million inhabitants.
