Franchise leads Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are confirmed to appear in the new Hunger Games instalment, Sunrise on the Reaping.
News has broken that beloved stars Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson will reprise their iconic roles in the latest chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The film is currently in production.
An Important Return to Panem
Lawrence and Hutcherson are returning as Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, respectively. Speculation suggests their appearance will take the form of a flash-forward sequence, as the original saga concluded with their characters settled into family life.
This marks the sixth film in the blockbuster Hunger Games franchise.
The Source Material
Sunrise on the Reaping is adapted from a newly published work by series creator Suzanne Collins. It serves as the follow-up prequel after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Once again is Francis Lawrence, who was behind most of the previous films in the series.
