Newest Refinery Assault Reveals 'No Protected Locations in the Russian Distant Backlines'
Ukraine's drones have hit the Russian oil refinery in the city of Ufa, positioned around 1,400 km from the Ukrainian border, resulting in detonations and a inferno, according to a source in the Ukrainian SBU.
This constitutes the latest intelligence long-range attack in the region in the last month. These strikes show that there are no secure zones in the distant backlines of the Russian state.
Ukrainian President Calls On Trump to Mediate Ceasefire in the Conflict
Volodymyr Zelenskyy appealed to the US President to mediate a ceasefire in the Ukrainian conflict during a call on the weekend.
"If a war can be halted in a particular zone, then undoubtedly further hostilities can be halted as well, encompassing the conflict with Russia," Zelenskyy stated, praising the US President's "exceptional" Middle East truce proposal and urging the US president to compel the Moscow into talks.

Russian attacks on Ukraine killed at least 5 individuals on Saturday and cut power to sections of Ukraine's southern Odesa area, per Ukrainian officials.
Two people died inside a place of worship in Kostyantynivka when it was hit, per local authorities.
In the Russian adjacent territory of Belgorod, a vehicle operator was killed by a Ukrainian strike, per municipal sources.
Energy Repair Operations in the Capital
Efforts continued on the weekend to restore power in Kyiv, after strikes by Moscow.
Power had been restored to over 800,000 residents by the weekend and the biggest power firm stated the primary efforts to restore power was concluded though some outages continued.
Anti-Aircraft Efforts and UAV Interceptions
The Ukrainian air defences intercepted or jammed 54 of 78 UAVs from Russia deployed against the country in the dark hours, the air force reported on Saturday.
The Russian defense officials stated it eliminated 42 enemy drones over the country's airspace.
Cuba Refutes Claims of Sending Troops to the War
The Cuban government on the weekend denied American assertions it has provided military personnel to participate in the conflict in Ukraine, while declaring the government "do not have precise details about Cuban nationals" engaged "independently" or "in the military forces of either party".
The ministry in the capital said twenty-six Cubans had been sentenced to jail sentences varying between five to 14 years for mercenary involvement since September 2023 when information spread of Cubans being dispatched to the frontlines in Ukraine.
