The children's author David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.

Best-selling children's author and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, as confirmed by the firm.

A spokesman for the firm said: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an review of reports of inappropriate behaviour involving female individuals.

The company has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, adding: "We do not comment on internal matters."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, having sold in excess of 60 million copies globally in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins in 2008.

Several of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.

His bibliography includes in excess of 40 works in total, which features a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.

Television and Literature

His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
